Faraz Anwar, the 31 year old talented guitarist from Pakistan, has made his way to the online final of guitar idol 2009. He is just one step away from performing live in the grand final, the London International music show on June 13, 2009. His special composition Autumn Madness was highly appreciated by the online viewers and the judges.
Guitar Idol is considered as the biggest online talent hunt throughout the world. The guitarists apply for the competition with their guitar compositions. A panel of online judges decide for the fate of the guitarist along with viewers votes. The guitarists compete in three online heats and the final knockout round. The top 12 from the final knockout round get a chance to perform in the London International music show. In these 12, eight are decided by judges choice while the remaining four by public votes.
Faraz Anwar - A guitar sensation
Faraz Anwar is a Pakistani progressive metal guitarists. He is the working with Mizraab as the Vocalist and lead guitarist. Faraz is considered as one of the best guitarist in Pakistan. He is the first guitarist and 2nd Pakistani musician to have released an album internationally. His solo album Abstract point of view played a great role in his international recognition. The album was released in 2001 via Gnarly Geezer Records. All the music writing and track sequencing was done by Faraz himself.
Faraz is the only musician who has played for more than 50 different artists in Pakistan. He was quoted as the King of guitars in Pakistan by the legend British guitarist and composer Allan Holdworth.
Faraz enjoys the status of being the only Pakistani to reach the final round of Guitar Idol 2009. Currently he is standing at No. 1 among 120 guitarists from all around the world. The voting is open till May 5, 2009.
