The provincial governments of Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh have decided to reopen the educational institutes from today i.e 26th Oct (Monday) after closing them down for almost one week due to the security crisis. However the NWFP government has decided to extend the holidays for 1 more week.
The institutes in the three provinces and the federal capital have been allowed to reopen after the completion of the security arrangements as prescribed by the government.
Though its kind of a big decision, considering the current security condition and the recent suicide attacks in International Islamic University Islamabad, but we all know that shutting down the schools will never help. The sole purpose of these terrorist activities is to freeze the system, and by shutting down schools, colleges and universities we are actually helping these terrorists achieve their goal.
Pakiology has came to know that some institutes have decided NOT to reopen today, Comsats is Off today while NUST and LUMS will reopen on Wednesday. Considering the recent suicide bomb blast on the Motorway, near Lillah Interchange, almost all the education institutes near and around Chakwal District will also remain closed for today.
When the students were asked about the current terror strikes, Pakiology team recieved a surprisingly morale boosting response. Students seem to be united against the terrorists and they have decided for an all out support for the geovernment and Pakistan Army. In many universities the students are protesting against the current situation and the IIUI scenario by wearing black ribbons.
Pakiology has also heard about a floating idea of an inter-organizational security team for each of the institutes. We stronlgy believe that the government should take this as a serious issue and they should spend some of their funds for the security of the youth, the backbone of a country. We see motorcades and dozens of cars full of security personels for the security protocol of our dear politicians, its time to focus on the security of the youth.

Academic institutions may be opening today, but my parents aren’t allowing me to go to college for this week.
Not that I’m arguing with them
And my parents don’t even care.
well i say open the institutions if u(gov) r capable of providing them with reasonable security…if u (rehman malik) think its ok to send ur son/daughter to bahria then i consider the security to b enuff…
I think universities should not be closed in any circumstances. Infact universities admin should check for loopholes in security n should do necessary arrangements for that
