Educational Institutes to reopen today
October 26th, 2009The provincial governments of Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh have decided to reopen the educational institutes from today i.e 26th Oct (Monday) after closing them down for almost one week due to the security crisis. However the NWFP government has decided to extend the holidays for 1 more week.

Education policy 2009 to be re-submitted
April 30th, 2009Education policy document was submitted in cabinet on 8th April, 2009. The approval was postponed so that the chief ministers of all provinces can give their suggestions and recommendations. Their suggestions are welcomed in order to make the policy strong enough to face the challenges and needs of the new generation.
The main theme of education policy will be to encourage Urdu language as medium of communication to enhance national integrity. New and innovative curriculum will be included to enhance capabilities of students. Compulsory teaching of English language will be there from class one. The policy will also highlight the importance of local languages.
The document will be stressing more on improving the educational standards in rural areas. Moreover, the policy will be reflecting the reduction of gender gap in education. The Ministry of Education will re-submit the National Education Policy Draft 2009 to the federal cabinet for approval after incorporating the suggestions from provincial governments.
