Google launches Urdu transliteration
June 30th, 2009 | Written by Alam
Google transliterate now works for Urdu as well
Google has launched this new application where you can transliterate English in to Urdu. Specially designed for Pakstani users, this application is simple and easy. All you need to do is to write something in roman English and hit ’space’ button, Google will automatically transliterate the written word into Urdu. The cool feature of this app is that it gives you a number of possible choices which could have been the exact transliteration of the input word.
This application goes fine for many cases but for some words it fails to deliver. As in the case of letter ‘g’ this application translates it into ‘گ ‘ and its other various forms but it does not considers ‘ج’ as the transliteration.
Transliteration is basically the representation of a word in to the closest corresponding letters of a different script.
